Future Impact of the US as the World’s Largest Propane Exporter and Only Large-Scale Ethane Exporter

Keefer Douglas, Director, Natural Gas Liquids Research and Consulting, IHS Markit

Mr.  Douglas leads NGL markets coverage for Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), and Africa as well as the development of NGL supply, demand, and pricing studies for Europe/CIS/Africa and Asia. He has also contributed to several consulting projects and the IHS long-term NGL supply and demand study. Mr. Douglas joined IHS in 2013 through the acquisition of PFC Energy, where he was a member of the Global Gas group. At PFC, he managed the Gas Competition Service, which focused on company performance and strategy in global gas. As an Analyst, his research focused primarily on natural gas markets across North Asia and Southeast Asia and on competitive strategy, with a particular emphasis on the Chinese national oil companies. Mr. Douglas also forecasted natural gas and NGL supply and demand. Previously Mr. Douglas spent four years in Beijing with Sinosphere Corp., a consulting firm specialized in advising multinational clients in the energy and electronics manufacturing sectors, among others. At Sinosphere Corp., he was involved in a project that helped clients navigate Chinese policy and regulations related to health, safety, and environment and labor standards as well as implement best practices in these areas in their Chinese operations. Mr. Douglas holds a BA from BrownUniversity and an MALD from the Fletcher School at Tufts University.

Managing NGL Risk Across the Supply Chain

Angela John, Director, Structured Products, Natural Gas Liquids, Olefins, and Polymers, BP

Angela John is Director of Structured Products within BP’s global energy marketing and trading organization. With over 10 years of experience in the natural gas liquids (NGLs) business, Angela is responsible for developing BP’s NGL and chemicals risk management portfolio and providing customers with tools for hedging, solutions to support project financing, and facilitation of cross-commodity opportunities for BP and its customers. Prior to her most recent appointment, Angela served as Senior Vice President of BP’s North American physical NGL business. Through her 27-year career with BP, Angela has gained extensive experience and a deep understanding of chemicals, refining, oil, natural gas and NGLs markets. Angela received an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg School of Management with a focus on strategy, organizational design and marketing and a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Houston.

Angela Branchi, COO, Sterling Transport Company

Angela was appointed as Chief Operating Officer in 2015 for Sterling Transport Company.  She is responsible for the company’s day to day operations and business development.   Angela joined Sterling Transport in 2012 to expand the organizations business development and operational reach from the mid-Atlantic to Nationwide.  She was instrumental in the acquisition and integration of McIlvane Trucking in 2014 which helped support Sterling’s growth. Angela began her career as a dispatcher for Cal-Gas Transportation in 1988 and over her 20 years at AmeriGas, held a variety of roles from Transportation Clerk to Area Transportation Manager.  There she learned every aspect of the LPG/NGL transportation business and honed her lifelong drive to deliver unsurpassed customer service with safe and timely delivery of every load. Prior to joining Sterling Transport Company, Angela served in a management and sales role for Werner Transportation Services where she was responsible for the growth of a small regional fleet to over 75 transports in her short 7-year span.


John Powell, Senior VP and Chief Commercial Officer, NGL Marketing, Supply and Logistics, Crestwood

John was appointed as Senior Vice President, MSL, Chief Commercial Officer in June 2017. In this role, John is responsible for the commercial operations of Crestwood’s NGL businesses including NGL marketing, supply, scheduling, rail terminal marketing, trading and logistics for the MSL business. John has more than 20 years’ experience in the energy industry including key management positions with Koch Supply and Trading, PG&E Trading, Louis Dreyfus Energy Trading, Inergy Propane LLC and now with Crestwood Services LLC following Inergy’s successful merger with Crestwood in 2012. John is a CPA with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Florida and he holds a M.B.A. from the Thunderbird School of Global Management. John is based in Kansas City, Missouri.


Taylor Marolis, Director of Transportation, Ferrell North America

Taylor Marolis is the Director of Transportation at Ferrell North America. Based in Overland Park, KS, Ferrell North America is a division of Ferrellgas specializing in Product Procurement, Inventory Management, Trading, Wholesale, and Logistics. Taylor oversees delivery of bulk propane to all Ferrellgas service units across the US, all Blue Rhino cylinder deliveries from production centers to distribution locations, as well as delivery of a variety of products to outside customers. A graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia, Taylor has been with the FNA Transportation team for over 13 years, with oversight responsibilities ranging from staffing, freight rate and driver pay formulation to dispatch and outside sales.



Steve Kubsch, Director of Operations – Transportation, Growmark

Steve Kubsch is the Director of Transportation Operations at GROWMARK, Inc., based in Bloomington, Illinois. In his role, Kubsch directs Manito Transit, GROWMARK Tank and Truck Centers, and a third party dispatch operation. He’s been at the company since 2011 and has 35 years of experience in the transportation industry. Kubsch is currently on the North American Transportation Employee Relations Association (NATERA) board, and involved with the American Trucking Association (ATA) as a member of the hazardous materials and safety committees. Outside of work, Steve enjoys ultra-cycling, running, traveling, and musicals. He and his wife, Julie, have two children and three grandchildren.
