Ben has played a pivotal role in product development at OPIS and expansion of critical services for OPIS’ broad base of customers from wholesale to retail. Some of OPIS’ most innovative products have come under Ben’s leadership. Ben is considered a leading expert on fuel pricing and trends and has been called upon to explain market conditions at top industry meetings in the U.S. and abroad. Ben’s recent efforts have been focused on helping the leadership team develop and expand OPIS fuel pricing transparency to international markets including Australia and Mexico.

Tom has covered downstream oil markets for over 40 years. A magna cum laude graduate of St. Francis University, Tom has a degree in English and has analyzed crude oil, refined products, and gas liquids for parts of four decades. He has also written commentary for Marketwatch and is a regular guest commentator for Bloomberg Financial Markets and NPR Marketplace. He provides unbiased and expert commentary for print and electronic media during times of oil volatility, and is regularly quoted in virtually every U.S. and international periodical.

Over the past 20 years, Fred has developed the OPIS retail fuels database into the most timely, complete and accurate source of gasoline and diesel pricing available in the market. He has won multiple industry awards for editorial excellence and product development.
In addition, Fred manages strategic relationships with some of the most high-profile and largest consumer companies worldwide, including Apple, Google and Toyota. He is credited with creating a benchmark margin index for retailers that helps measure profit performance against an industry standard. Fred is a graduate of Monmouth University where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration.

Linda oversees all of OPIS’s day-to-day operations including pricing, customer service for electronic products, newsletters and conferences, billing and technical support. In addition, she acts as a liaison between OPIS’s IT groups and business heads to ensure the success of new launches, product enhancements and changes to meet customer needs. Linda started with OPIS as a customer service representative and has held various positions before being named COO.

Michael provides strategic oversight for the use of information technology resources in support of the mission and goals of OPIS. As CIO, Michael ensures the structural alignment of technical product development efforts, engages in strategic IT investment planning, oversees IT and Data Governance, and manages the setting of IT priorities for the company.
He has more than 22 years of experience leading technology development, operations, and initiatives across large-scale, complex organizations. Prior to serving as OPIS’s CIO, Michael led the Corporate IT Development and Project Management group for UCG, OPIS’s former parent company. Michael has a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics from the University of Maryland.

Scott is currently VP, Global Sales, working closely with all OPIS customers on their data subscription agreements. Scott also is very involved in working with all customers on helping them understand how to use OPIS data in reliable, fair fuel agreements, and in general, how to purchase fuel better. Prior to being in charge of Sales, Scott was responsible for all OPIS conferences and educational seminars. At the beginning of his career at OPIS, Scott covered U.S. rack and spot markets, and he also developed the OPIS West Coast Spot Market Report, whose spot prices have been the industry benchmark since 1984.

Steve has close to 25 years of price reporting experience in the energy and petrochemical sectors. Prior to joining OPIS, Steve was Editorial Director for ICIS editorial operations in Asia and led the global Market Engagement team on business development. At OPIS, Steve focuses on championing OPIS spot content as trusted enablers of market development – through the timely provision of globally recognized benchmarks, market analysis/insights and breaking news.
Steve holds an MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management and an undergraduate business degree from Deakin University, Australia.

Rich brings more than 20 years of industry and technology experience including a unique blend of enterprise software, business management, sales and operations expertise. His focus is on helping downstream petroleum companies maximize their use of software and technology when managing fuel supply, distribution and logistics.
Before joining OPIS, Rich was Vice President of Business Development for the Cedar Group, a UK-based publicly traded enterprise software and solutions provider. Rich’s prior experience included eight years as an accountant and consultant with KPMG Peat Marwick and Price Waterhouse (PWC). Rich is a CPA and a member of the AICPA. He is also a member of the AICPA Technology Committee. He holds a BS degree in Accounting from Bentley College.

Randy started his career in energy more than 25 years ago working first for a natural gas pipeline, then a gas utility. He was previously a Vice President at Energy Central, where he built a line of interactive, integrated data and analysis products now owned by Pennwell. Prior to that he was a director for SNL Energy, a division of SNL Financial created with SNL’s acquisition of Io Energy – a company Randy founded and ran as President and CEO. Prior to Io Energy, Randy was Publisher of Financial Times Energy, which merged into Platts in 2001.

Rick has more than 30 years of experience in marketing management and brand-building for leading B2B information providers across diverse industries, including the Financial Times, Adweek, Fairchild Fashion Media and The Hollywood Reporter.
He comes to OPIS after 10+ years at SNL Financial (now S&P Global Market Intelligence) where he directed the company’s marketing in the energy sector, as well as in banking, insurance, real estate, media & communications and metals & mining. Rick holds a B.A. in English from Columbia University in the City of New York.
