Adrian Calcaneo
Mr. Calcaneo is based in Houston, Texas, where he currently serves as the Vice President for Energy and Feedstocks at Chemical Market Analytics by OPIS, a Dow Jones Company. In this role, he leads the global development efforts for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), NGL (Natural Gas Liquids), and Naphtha products, in addition to contributing to the broad energy market deliverables and insights.
With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Calcaneo brings a unique perspective shaped by his upbringing in Mexico City. He has extensively engaged with companies, regulators, and government officials throughout Latin America, a role marked by constant travel to more than 10 countries, as well as long-term assignments in Mexico, the United States, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. His diverse background, deeply rooted in his native understanding of Latin American culture and business practices, coupled with his extensive international travel experience, underscores his adeptness at navigating different business environments and engaging with a broad spectrum of stakeholders
Before joining Chemical Market Analytics, Mr. Calcaneo held the position of Latin America NGL Lead at S&P Global Commodity Insights, overseeing NGL market research across 43 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. His journey prior to this role includes serving as a Manager for Consulting Delivery at EAG Services, Inc., where he advised multinational energy companies. His rich research experience encompasses international trade, energy policy, and global economics at the Mosbacher Institute for Trade, Economics, and Public Policy, and his advocacy for various public policy matters while working at the Organization of American States in Washington DC.
Mr. Calcaneo’s academic journey is equally distinguished. He holds a BA from Texas A&M University, a Certificate in Advanced International Affairs, and a Master of Public Administration with a focus on Energy Policy from the Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University. He has further enhanced his expertise by earning both a Graduate Certificate and a Master’s Degree in Data Science from Harvard University.
